Erin Buller, Ph.D.

Academic Research and Writing Teacher

“So whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Biography

Born in Oklahoma and raised in California, Texas, and Georgia as an Air Force and Delta Air Lines child, Erin went on to study English and German in college. She taught academic writing and literature at UNC-Chapel Hill for five years while earning her M.A. and Ph.D. in English (20th-century American literature). After seven years on the NC coast raising babies and toddlers, she accompanied her husband to these beautiful mountains for his job, and she hopes to stay.

In addition to teaching at Canongate, Erin homeschools three elementary and middle school children, teaches writing online, and instructs couples in Boston Cross Check natural family planning. She enjoys working with all preteen to late teen students and serves with her husband as a 6th-grade catechist at St. Barnabas.

Erin is a cradle Catholic whose life has been punctuated by a series of ever-deeper invitations to life in Christ. She hopes to prepare Canongate students for college-level work but also more broadly for the challenges and opportunities they will face as Christian young adults.
