Br. Daniel Chaves

Biography

Originally from Bogota (Colombia), Br. Daniel moved to New Jersey at an early age (1993). Pursuing God’s call, he joined the Seminary and completed his philosophical studies in Spain (2004-2010). As he continued his theological formation, he served in the missions in Peru (2016-2018) and obtained his STB in Rome (2018-2021). He is part of the Seminary of the Diocese of Charlotte since 2023 and is currently serving at Immaculate Conception Parish in Hendersonville, as he awaits to receive the Holy Orders.

He expanded his knowledge of modern languages, for which he has always felt a special appeal, with further studies (2012-15) and with a long experience in teaching. He has also taught/tutored Latin to fellow Seminarians and youth, as well as some courses of Theology. 

His daily time of prayer and adoration is essential to his personal relationship with Christ through Mary. He highly values fraternal sharing with his brothers in the faith. He also enjoys reading the lives of the saints and their writings, listening to classical music, hiking, and contemplating God’s creation.

  • Unfinished studies in Modern Languages, Universidad EAN in Bogota (Colombia).
