SUMMARY:Frassati Friday; Orienteering with Chris Ghakis
DESCRIPTION:Frassatti Friday \n\n\n\nChris will teach and demonstrate land navigation techniques and how to use a magnetic compass in conjunction with a paper map. It’s a fun\, challenging\, and rewarding experience. \n\n\n\nWe’ll move through the Beginner Course together\, implementing the skills and concepts everyone just learned as a group. Once everyone gets the hang of it\, there are Intermediate\, Expert\, and Scatter Courses available for newly-minted orienteers to go out and stretch their legs on (read: race!) if they so choose. \n\n\n\nPlease feel free to browse the WNC Orienteering Club’s website and Instagram and Facebook to get an idea of what this all looks like. Many of the recent posts have to do with the Historic Johnson Farm’s map\, which is brand new and got tested on groups of elementary schoolers over the summer.
