SUMMARY:Fall Student Retreat - Charleston\, SC
DESCRIPTION:The Fall Student Retreat will take place in Charleston\, SC this year.  \n\n\n\nOn Friday October 6th – Sunday October 8th\, Canongate will be traveling down to historic\, and hopefully very sunny\, Charleston\, South Carolina. We will begin our time together at the oldest Catholic parish in the city\, St. Mary of the Annunciation\, and finish with Sunday Mass at the very grand Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Below is a schedule of what to expect during our three days together: \n\n\n\nFriday\, October 6 \n\n\n\n7:00 am   Depart Canongate \n\n\n\n12:00 noon  Arrive in Charleston  / Lunch \n\n\n\n2:00 pm   Kick-off with retreat missionary Molly Pereda at St. Mary’s \n\n\n\n3:45 pm  The Citadel College Parade of Troops \n\n\n\n5:30 pm   Check-in & Dinner \n\n\n\n7:00 pm   City Market Shopping / Ice Cream / Charleston Night Walk \n\n\n\n9:30 pm  Return to Lodging  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSaturday\, October 7 \n\n\n\n7:30 am  Morning Prayer & Breakfast at Lodging  \n\n\n\n9:00 am  Historic Fort Sumter Tour (includes 30 minute Ferry) \n\n\n\n12:00 noon Lunch  \n\n\n\n2:00 pm   Isle of Palm Beach \n\n\n\n6:00 pm   Dinner / Lectio Divina / Movie  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSunday\, October 8 \n\n\n\n8:30 am   Breakfast at Lodging / Pack Vans \n\n\n\n11:15 am  Solemn Mass at Cathedral  \n\n\n\n1:00 pm  Depart and Lunch \n\n\n\n6:30  pm  Arrive back at Canongate for pick-up \n\n\n\nOur goal has been to arrange a packed\, meaningful trip at an affordable price.  Thankfully\, a Charlestonian with a unique\, newly renovated property was happy to work with us to provide affordable lodging for our whole group.  This conveniently-located inn\, available through Airbnb\, is divided into two sections\, one for the guys and one for the gals\, and each section\, able to sleep up to 16 people in multiple bedrooms\, has a separate entrance.  This was a great discovery\, and I think it will suit our retreat purpose really well.  \n\n\n\nSo\, the trip this year cost $120.00 per student.  [That’s $85.00 for lodging for two nights\, $25.00 for visiting Fort Sumter\, and a $10.00 transportation fee.]  Please make your payment to the office\, either to Mr. Allen or to Mrs. Hungerford.  \n\n\n\nAdditionally\, students will need to bring money for 5 meals.  [That’s 3 lunches and 2 dinners.]  Please note that students will also have the opportunity to shop at Charleston’s famous City Market for souvenirs and ice cream.  On Sunday\, we will be returning in time for students to eat dinner with their families.
